Meet Your Coach

Paul McLean

Paul has been skating since he was 2.5 years old and has been a skating coach for over 10 years. Paul's goal as a coach is to provide his skates with all the tools required to accomplish their goals.

Paul has trained under international level coaches, mentored by top level National and International coaches. He is Level 1 NCCP Certified and CanPowerSkate Certified.

Coach Paul's specialties include skating basics, power skating, jump and spin technique, coreography and dance partnering.

Our Classes

Power Skating for Hockey Players

Join NCCP Certified coach, Paul McLean for an intense hour of power skating, edge work and strength building. Designed for Hockey Players, players wear full hockey equipment as Paul teaches them proper skating Technique.
Maximum 6 players in each session.

50 minute sessions

Learn to Play Hockey – Level 2

Join NCCP Certified coach, Paul McLean for this 4-week program that focuses on skating and basic hockey skills and concepts in an intimate setting. There is a maximum of 10 players and each session is 50 minutes. Full hockey equipment is required. Children in these programs are typically 4-8 years old.

Level 2: This program is for players who are more competent skaters (i.e. can skate forward while carrying a puck, skate backwards, turn and stop) and have basic fundamental hockey skills. Sessions focus on skill development with some basic hockey concepts and team fundamentals.

50 minute sessions available Saturday and Sunday mornings. (Sign up for each individually)

Learn to Play Hockey – Level 1

Join NCCP Certified coach, Paul McLean for this 4-week program that focuses on skating and basic hockey skills and concepts in an intimate setting. There is a maximum of 10 players and each session is 50 minutes. Full hockey equipment is required. Children in these programs are typically 4-8 years old.

Level 1: These sessions are for children who can skate (i.e Can take small strides with both feet and are able to turn and stop). The focus of this session is to teach basic hockey fundamentals including holding the stick, power skating, shooting, passing and stickhandling.

Cost: $40 plus HST

Learn To Skate – Level 2

Children in these programs are typically ages 4-7. We do accept 3 year olds in this program, on a case by case basis. After the first 1-2 sessions we may contact you to move your child to a different level/program if necessary.

Level 2: This sessions are for skaters who have experience with Level 1 skills and can move around the ice fairly efficiently on their own Paul will teach skaters how to lengthen their stride, complete power stops, turn and skate backwards.

Cost: $40 plus HST
50 minute sessions available Sunday mornings @ 8:00am  (Sign up for each individually)

Learn to Skate – Level 1

Children in these programs are typically ages 4-7. We will accept 3 year-olds in this program, on a case by case basis. After the first 1-2 sessions we see your child, we may contact you to move them to a different level/program if necessary.

Level 1: This session is for children who have limited or no skating experience. Paul will teach skaters how to stand up, balance, move forward, take strides and stop (snow plow). With a maximum of 10 participants in our learn to skate program, your skater gets plenty of attention and correction.

Cost: $30 plus HST
45 minute sessions Saturdays @ 8:00am Just to August. (Please sign up for each individually)
